After School Program

Before school and after school programs are extremely important to working parents with hectic schedules. They want to know that their child is in a safe and structured environment before and after school. Happy Days’ School Age room is perfect for these children!

Our school age room is a great place for older children to prepare for the school day ahead or unwind after a full day of learning at school. We do still provide structure in this room and the usual schedule is the following:

BEFORE SCHOOL PROGRAM

6:30 – 7:30 AM

Arrival and routines: Children arrive and are greeted by the staff. Breakfast is provided by parents and is served upon arrival. Teachers work with families to provide a supportive, consistent environment.

7:15 – 7:45 AM

Choice Time. Centers are available for children to make choices and freely explore several activities.

AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM

3:15 –  5:30 PM

Choice Time. Snack will be provided upon arrival. Children will be encouraged to do homework and centers will be open, including outdoor recess (weather permitting).

5:30 – 6:00 PM

Literacy Time. Quiet choices will be made including books, books on tape, puzzles, and writing.

SUMMER CARE

During the summer our school aged room provides a fun and safe environment for older children to be in while their parents are at work. While school may be out for the summer, our staff provides a structured schedule that provides an environment that encourages continued learning.

With lesson plans and planned field trips, our school aged children have fun filled summer days that also minimizes their “learning loss”.
